Possibly more like le retour. I don’t know. As part of overhauling the old website to make it bit more AEO-leaning, I am toying with the idea of linking the blog back to the website again. I remain undecided on reviving blogging itself. On the one hand, there is LinkedIn now. On the other hand, there is LinkedIn now. I mean, the absolute state of it.
As part of that, I reviewed my old blog roll. Quite disheartening to see how many entire websites have gone the way of all flesh. I know some have left the profession, others changed their focus, or core business, perhaps. Still, c’est la vie, although I do now feel a little nostalgic for the old days when blogs were very much A Thing.
Anyhow, apart from refreshing my memory about how WordPress works, I also wondered how many people still get notifications of posts on here. I know I sounds like a fella practically begging for comments, and I’m not really, but if you do, then hurrah.
I agree, a lot of good translators’ blogs are gathering dust, have moved to LinkedIn, or have disappeared for the reasons you mention. It’s a shame. But there are still some interesting ones out there.
