Prices and Delivery

Translation

As you may be aware, translation is generally priced per word - in our case, this means per French word in the text you need translating.

My baseline rate for translation is GBP 0.06/EUR 0.09 per word. More may be charged depending on the format (e.g. a PowerPoint file, as these are more time-consuming to translate) or the content (e.g. a highly technical document requiring extensive research). Conversely, a discount will be applied to repetitive texts.

As regards delivery, the lead time is approximately one working day per 2,000 words.

Proof reading

Proof reading of a previous translation is charged:

  • at 40% of the theoretical cost of a translation from scratch, if your requirement is that I compare the translation to the original French version.
  • at GBP 0.02/EUR 0.03 per (English) word if it is simply a question of checking the translated text without reference to the original French version.
